Frequently asked QuestionsIn the SeaChestHow do we get into SeaChest?On the corner of Surrey St there is a Hair Salon called Hairlucinations, go round to the front until you see The White Hart Inn. The railings and stairs (and notice saying Sea Chest on an anchor) indicate the entrance. If it is dark the grey box on the right hand side hides a push button to switch on the lights down the stairs). At the bottom of the stairs is a keysafe which you can open with the code sent to you, so you can use the key to open the front door. Which kitchen and laundry appliances can we expect to find in our accommodation?Fridge, oven and electric hob, microwave, washing machine, iron and tumble-dryerAny other useful kitchen equipment?Almost everything you can think of, from a garlic press to juicer, toaster, and kettle. You’ll find a range of saucepans and cooking utensils and enough glasses, china crockery and cutlery to cope with a crowd!And in the living area? Do you have a TV, DVD player, radio?Yes, all of these, plus a few DVDs and CDs, but you are welcome to bring your own DVDs and CDs with you. The TV in the living area has Freeview channels. Anything else in the way of reading books?Yes there are games, including table snooker and there’s a good selection of books (including some local guides). We also supply lots of tourism information/pamphlets on what's on in Sussex and Hampshire. What about wi-fi? There is free, unlimited, wi-fi if you bring your own laptop, tablet or mobile, broadband comes via a BT Hub for which we supply a password. And do you provide towels and bedlinen? And tea-towels? Yes, no need to bring any of these; they are all included in the rental. Beds are made up ready for you, and towels await you. We know how useful it is to free up space in your car and want you to feel at-home the moment you walk through the door. If you are staying longer than a week, we do have a weekly housekeeping cleaning, towels and linen.We can also supply older towels useful for drying off soggy dogs!How about cots and high chairs?Yes, we do have a travel cot and high chair. Ask, we are happy to reserve them for you. If you are travelling by car, by all means bring your own cot.So what other useful things do you provide?A hairdryer in each room, iron and ironing board, a first-aid kit, general cleaning equipment and washing up liquid. However, mindful of allergies to some brands, we do not provide laundry powder. You may want to bring or purchase your favourite.Tell us the heating.Electric Flame effect fire in the living room and electric radiators in all of the rooms, allow for individual temperature control. Smoking? We want to provide a healthy, safe and comfortable environment for all of our guests, including those that follow you. Therefore it is stricitly no smoking in the apartment. We greatly appreciate guests' co-operation in keeping it that way. Going OutHow close can we park our cars? Immediately adjacent to the accommodation, there is free on street parking, plus 2 car parks within a minute of the accommodation (which is free from 6pm until 8am). There is an allocated free car space in a private car park about 50m away, but you do need to give advance warning so I can have a permit ready for you.Where is Sea Chest located in relation to….Airports: Gatwick Airport? There is within walking distance (2min) a local Sainsburys and Lidl supermarkets. Not far away Morrisons and Tesco sell petrol and diesel. What about local restaurants? And take-aways?A good variety, again within walking distance (less than 2min) are an eclectic mix of cosy gastro pubs, quaint tearooms, independent restaurants (e.g Fish, Greek, Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai and Carvery) traditionally run cafes, takeaways and an award winning Fish & Chip shop.Should we do a lot of advance planning of places to visit? Within your accommodation you’ll find guidebooks, leaflets full of tourist information, attractions to visit, activities to indulge in, shopping opportunities, cultural events. It would be helpful to visit tourist websites like Visit Littlehampton or Sussextourism, there a large number of sites which will provide more detail on what's on.Should we bring our golf clubs? Opportunities do abound in this area for real enthusiasts. There are 3 golf courses within 5 miles and with a golf course just across the river.Is it true this is the sunshine belt of the south? Littlehampton sits in the centre of the region with the highest sunshine hours in the UK. Another reason for coming to Littlehampton.!
